Lobster Rolls (Warm and Cold)

Ingredients (Serves 6–8)

  • 3–4 cooked lobsters (about 1½–2 lbs meat total)
  • Split-top hot dog buns
  • Unsalted butter
  • Lemon wedges
  • Salt & black pepper

Classic Cold Lobster Roll (Maine-Style)

You’ll need:

  • Chopped lobster meat
  • Mayo
  • Lemon juice
  • Salt & pepper
  • Celery, finely diced
  • Parsley, finely chopped

Instructions:

  1. Gently toss lobster meat with just enough mayo to coat.
  2. Add a squeeze of lemon, salt, and pepper.
  3. Fold in celery.
  4. Chill until ready to serve.

Warm Buttered Lobster Roll (Connecticut-Style)

You’ll need:

  • Chopped lobster meat
  • Unsalted butter
  • Salt
  • Chives, sliced

Instructions:

  1. Melt butter gently in a pan.
  2. Add lobster meat and warm just until heated through.
  3. Season lightly with salt.
  4. Garnish with chives

Preparing the Buns

  1. Brush the sides of split-top buns with butter.
  2. Toast both sides on a skillet until golden.
  3. Keep warm in foil until serving.

Hosting tip:
Set out both lobster styles in serving bowls and allow guests to choose their favorite.

Optional extras (set out on buffet):

  • Finely chopped parsley
  • Finely chopped Chives
  • Old Bay seasoning
